Jeff Bowra, DVM, CCRP
Meet The Creator & Founder of The SPAW........
Did you know The SPAW was the first veterinary hospital in Canada to have an underwater treadmill and therapy pool? Dr. Jeff graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1994 received the designation of Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner fromThe University of Tennessee in 2004. He and his wife Toni have three daughters Chloe, Riley, Olivia and a son Brody. Outside of work and family he enjoys playing hockey and cheering for The Vancouver Canucks. He also loves to escape to the family cabin on the Sunshine Coast as much as possible to go boating and fishing (but not a lot of catching). As veterinarian and owner of Aldergrove Animal Hospital he has dedicated his career to family pet care and veterinary physical rehabilitation. To provide his clients and their pets and athletes with the rehabilitation, fitness, sports medicine, and conditioning services they need he built The SPAW, our pet rehabilitation and fitness centre. His special interest in canine sports and rehabilitation medicine with a focus on coursing and racing sight hounds has allowed him to help many pets get back on their feet and many athletes return to competition and preform at their best. He is a member of the American Association of Rehabilitation Veterinarians. He targets his continuing education towards sports medicine and rehabilitation and networks with experts in these fields all over the world. He has taken Advanced Training in Canine Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation through the University of Tennessee and the Canine Rehabilitation Institute in Florida.
Dr. Bowra is also available for rehabilitation and mobility assessments in North Vancouver at Westview Veterinary Services.
